(More customer reviews)I ordered this unit on Thursday Nov. 11th with two day shipping and got it the next day. Pretty impressed with that. Installing this unit was a breeze and it fit perfectly in my 97 Ram. For the price, great unit. I was impressed with the quality of the build... especially the RCA outputs having rubber coated jackets with attached rubber caps when not in use. Bluetooth works great and LCD screen is sharp and bright. USB only supports up to 249 tracks of audio and SD slot only supports 512kb. The only down side is that I didn't recieve the remote control with the unit, which has limited me on some features that can only be accessed by remote. SSL customer service is somewhat frustrating as I can never get anyone to call me back about getting the remote sent, but I'll keep trying. But overall I'm very pleased with the player. Does everything I want for a great price. Since I couldn't find any reviews on this product before I purchased it, I hope this helps someone along the way.

The FM quality is very good, very clear.
I can pick up stations that I was unable to receive before (too weak of a signal--maybe my other head unit was going bad?).
The HD is very cool; crystal clear and a wider stereo effect.
Downside to HD is that it drops out when signal is weak.
4GB usb thumbdrive worked flawlessly.
The overall sound is very good, in my opinion.
I have the option to upgrade to bluetooth and sat radio as well.
I am very satisfied.
On the downside, I find the menu and buttons cumbersome.
Some of the buttons are too small, the menus are not intuitive, etc.
The remote is VERY basic.
Still, I am very satisfied.
I give it a 5 because of the price and options.

Panasonic TC-L32X2 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV with iPod Dock Review

(More customer reviews)I bought three new 32-inch LCD TVs in one week, and returned the first two because of faulty video inputs. The third TV I bought is this high-quality, Panasonic TC-L32X2 TV, which was just released in February 2010. My experience enabled me to compare three similar TVs, giving me good insight to write this review.
I initially bought two other 32-inch LCD TVs; a Vizio VO320E and a Sony BRAVIA BX 300 Series (model KDL-32BX300). I returned both of them because of identical video input problems. I connected two different brands of DVD players to each TV, and when I played DVDs, there were alternating horizontal stripes of discoloration on the screen, indicating a problem with the video inputs on the TVs. I returned both TVs to the retailer because both of these DVD players worked perfectly on two other TVs in my house, including a one-year-old Panasonic plasma.
Then I bought the Panasonic TC-L32X2 TV listed here. After the initial setup, the first thing I tested was the video output from a DVD player, and was relieved to find that the video was crisp and clear, with no stripes of discoloration like on the other two TVs. Then I flipped through the channels from a direct cable TV input (no cable box), and the TV output was excellent as well, and definitely better than the other two TVs that I had to return. Also, the build of the TV was noticeably of higher quality than the other two TVs. The remote has plenty of features, and is not cheap (like the ones that came with other two TVs).
This Panasonic TC-L32X2 TV comes with one cable TV input, one set of component video inputs (red/blue/green video and red/white audio), two sets of composite video inputs (red/white/yellow), three HDMI inputs, a PC input, an iPod dock with connector cable and rear input, an SD camera card input, and a Dolby digital audio output.

(More customer reviews)This is the next generation of iPod sound docks! I own a Logitech and a Bose sound dock. They both have their good and bad points, but neither of them offers the capability of this product...namely, the ability to have complete control of all iPod functions, using the iPod itself, at a remote distance from the sound box. The remote controls on all other units serve mainly as volume controllers, with the user having to approach the sound box to see what's going on on the iPod's screen. And though this is obviously anecdotal, I would testify that the Yamaha's sound quality outstrips both my Bose Sound Dock II, which has the typical Bose "muffled," soft, basey, quality, and my Logitech PureFi II, which has very good crisp sound at low levels but rapidly loses quality as the volume goes up (and has other well-documented issues as well). The Yamaha appears to have a wide frequency range and the ability to hold the sound quality with increased volume. The Yamaha also offers you the option to plug your iPod directly into the sound box itself, as you do with other brands, and use the separate, included hand-held to control the functions if you prefer. All is not perfect. If I am not mistaken, the hand-held transmitter, which hold your iPod, is RF (radio frequency) operated, but responds in a line-of-site manner, akin to an infrared system. If you block the transmitter with an obstruction, even your own body, the sound will be disrupted. Still, this is a minor limitation, considering the complete control available. This was a gift purchase for my spouse, but it is so impressive I wouldn't be surprised to see one appearing for my own use in the future. Kudos Yamaha! (note that this product is only compatible with later generation iPod models which use USB connectors)

After using it several times out on the water, I still give it 5 stars. When the batteries get low, it sounds like the speaker has blown. Put fresh batteries in and sounding good again. I use rechargable to save money and better performance. I can't tell you how many have stopped me on the river asking how I have tunes on my kayak!

I attached a video recorded from the Active X viewer from Internet Explorer. I was at work when I connected and was surprised to see my older son in my younger son's crib! You should get an idea of the audio and video quality. The camera was in wireless mode. It created a .asf file, but I changed the extension to .wmv to upload to Amazon.This is from a perspective of a Mac user with Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I uploaded a bunch of screenshots of the setup screens.
PC users can extrapolate the logic.
The hardware is EXACTLY the same as the Sharx Security VIPcella-IR S. It is also the same as the y-cam-knight - Google it.
I decided to save 50% of the cost of the Sharx Security VIPcella-IR S since I am very comfortable with computers and networks. By reading the excellent review of the Sharx, they are mostly from the added software and support. Once you figure this camera out, it will perform exactly the same as the Sharx Security VIPcella-IR S. (I haven't tried the mini-sd card yet)
At first, I thought, I'll just use the Y-cam Mac setup software, but it didn't find the camera.
The VERY first thing I did was to plug an Ethernet cord to the back of the Camera so that it can get an IP address from my Airport Extreme Router.
Then you have to determine what IP was given to the Camera so you can connect to it via the browser. Just follow the steps in the screenshot.
Once you have the IP address, simply type it in Safari and the default username and password is admin / admin.
From there you can mess with the settings.
Be sure to download the FREE y-cam app from iTunes so you can use your iTouch or iPhone as a super clear baby monitor!
The unfortunate thing is that there is no sound.
TO ACCESS OUTSIDE YOUR HOME
If you want to access the camera outside of your home, it is best to give it a DHCP Reservation:
In the AirPort Utility, click DHCP
Then under DHCP Reservations, click the + sign
Give it a Description and select the MAC Address (I copied and pasted it from the "System" Screen of the Camera settings
Then give it a valid IP address.
So whenever you restart your Airport, it doesn't give the Camera a different IP address.
Then you have to Configure Port Mappings.
I changed the port of the camera to 8081 just in case someone randomly gets my home IP address. The default is port 80, which any browser will automatically connect.
Just change all the ports in the Port Mapping Setup Assistant in the Airport Utility to match the port you picked, and the Private IP address will be the IP of the camera you chose above.
If you are geeky enough to understand the above, then you can save yourself about $150 bucks from the Sharx since they apparently do a great job of simplifying it for the end user. The LTS is the SAME hardware, but it isn't as "Plug and Play" - Software and support make the Sharx a winner. I didn't have to call LTS support so I have no clue how they are.
All the other reviews to the Sharx in regards to performance will be relevant to this camera.
I'm thinking of buying another LTS LTCIP830MV-W Wireless IP Camera with 30 IR LEDs and MicroSD Card with the money I saved :-)

Oyaide E7 Fiio USB DAC Headphone Amplifier Review

(More customer reviews)Awesome DAC/amp for the money. I'm a basshead so seeing the bass levels 0-3 is a welcome sight. Highs and mids aren't affected by this device except the bass(used this in conjunction with my Denon ahd2000, Sennheiser HD595). I'm not sure why it is named Oyaide E7 since when I created a thread about it at headfi.org, Feiao(Fiio representative @ headfi.org) said "Oyaide is our exclusive distributor in Japan, there never have Oyaide's E7" So don't worry, the Fiio and Oyaide E7s are one product.
Con: The plastic screen gets easily scratch. When I'm using my Ultimate Ears triple fi 10 I get static(like when you are rotating the headphone jack to the headphone input) in it. I thought my tri-fi 10 is broken/damage so I tried it on my FiiO E5 and the static is gone. I'm only using the regular headphone jack from my ipod and not an LOD cable(will arrive within the next two or three weeks, thanks Ibasso

(More customer reviews)I had a Griffin FM transmitter with my iPhone 3G that I gave away with the phone. When I purchased my iPhone 4, there didn't seem to be a supported Griffin FM transmitter or car charger that officially worked with the iPhone 4. I wanted a Griffin because the one I had worked well for me. I waited a while, kept checking, and finally there were products offered for the iPhone 4. A LOT of products (from Griffin). I wasn't sure which product to pick. I wanted a car charger and an FM transmitter. I finally picked out the DualConnect as it seemed the closest match. I was hesitant however because there seemed to be mixed reviews around, mostly negative. I went ahead and bought it and it has worked great. It worked the first try with no problems. I had been a little worried about the "dual" part... my car radio doesn't have a line in for external audio input and I figured that part of the cord would dangle about, unused. I was happy to find, however, that the line in is a completely separate cable from the charge unit. SO, for my purposes, I can just leave that cable at home. Thus I have a single cable from car charger to phone, with which I can control the playback directly (with the part that fits into the charger). Also, the app I installed from the AppStore worked without any problems. I was able to auto tune the frequency, set it on the radio, and it just worked.
I don't often leave reviews. I only do so now because I almost didn't buy this product because of the negative reviews I read elsewhere. I'm really happy with it though and glad I finally have a way to listen to my iPhone music in my car.

FiiO E9 Desktop Headphone Amplifier and Dock for E7 USB DAC Review

(More customer reviews)If headphones are your primary listening mode, you need a headphone amp. I use a NuForce UDAC-2HP for computer sound. I purchased the Fiio E9 to connect to my main stereo. I'm not going to use the docking port to install a Fiio E7 USB DAC/AMP or an iPod.
The E9 is relatively small, but I wouldn't term it "lightweight" for its size. It's solidly built, with a black anodized finish.
Using a 3.5mm stereo male plug to RCA left/right male plugs adapter, I ran the output of the tape monitor of my integrated amp into the E9. The 3.5mm stereo plug goes into the E9's "Line In" socket and the RCA plugs into the integrated amp. Plug in the wall wart power supply and your headphones and that's it--just turn it on. I've experienced no issues with a "scratchy" sound from the volume pot, which might be related to the docking port. The volume pot is smooth and the E9 has a silent backdrop.
What you will get is more snap and punch, faster attack, and more harmonic layering. Initially it might seem there's less bass, until you realize that there's plenty of deep, clean bass--it's not bloated muck caused by an inexpensive headphone circuit. I've used the E9 with Beyerdynamic DT990 Premium 250 Ohm phones and the Denon AHD2000, and had good results with both. There is a gain switch, so experiment with the setting that's best. The E9 can produce all the volume you'll ever want.
At the E9's price, it can't be a state-of-the-art headphone amp, but it is an excellent piece of electronics that will be a major upgrade of your listening experience. It might be all you need.
Update 3/23/2011: I've used the Fiio E9 for 3 months with a variety of headphones, including the Ultrasone PRO 750, and I'm still impressed. I've looked at headphone amps costing significantly more, and the Fiio E9 remains a superb value equal to more costly amps. Like another reviewer, I would have preferred RCA inputs instead of a 3.5mm "Line In," but with a solid RCA to 3.5mm adapter (like the Monster CableLinks), you can use high quality interconnects. Audio products at this price point always have trade-offs, but Fiio did a stellar job with the E9.

Parrot RKi8400 Bluetooth Car Stereo for Digital Music and Hands-Free Driving Review

(More customer reviews)I had done all my research on stereos that work with the iPhone. I thought this one would be perfect. Here is what I have found:
1. the buttons feel very cheap
2. my iPhone barely fits in the compartment behind the face.
3. a 4gb SD card takes about a minute to initialize every time I start my car
4. did not come with a face cover to car the face around or store in.
5. the voice that talks to you when someone calls, etc cannot pronounce anything -- even the basic features of the device (let alone someone's name!)
6. the speakerphone does not pickup my voice very well at all in my car (have tried several different locations
7. having my iPhone stored behind the face is annoying and barely used -- as you have no access to your phone and you have to shut down the stereo if you need to pull it out.

(More customer reviews)Without writing too many words i'd have to say i love this unit in my car, I drive a Pontiac G6, 2006 and the manufacture radio stopped playing and i had to replace it for about the same price for a new one of these, and i believe i made the excellent choice of buying this one. So far everything about it is great, does all it says and installation was 30mins tops. improved sound system for real and love playing movies while driving. the only thing is that i can't watch the videos in my iPod when i connect it to this unit. you'll need an extra cable from what i understand, for that to work. and yes my iPod is compact-able with the unit and i have my iPod set to allow an external video output. All-in-all i love this unit and u sure will. Need pics? write me and I'll post them.

(More customer reviews)I like the design of this product very much, but it suffers from a fatal flaw. The transmitter is weak. This is in direct conflict with what other reviews say. Also, the unit only broadcasts from 88.1-107.9 -- other websites and the back of the packaging claim its capable of 87.6 to 107.9.
From this, I think I know why the transmitter is so weak. Apparently, this unit originally did not comply with FCC regulations and probably was a very strong transmitter that could do the full FM frequency. At some point, apparently very recently, the FCC probably forced Satechi to remedy this and now it can no longer do 87.6-88.0 and no longer broadcast a signal powerful enough to be received from more than 6 yards out as the FCC requires.
If you look at reviews on Amazon, you'll notice the FM transmitters made by companies you've never heard of all get the high 5 star reviews while the ones made by big name brands (like Monster and Belkin) get absolutely trashed in the reviews. This is because ANY FM transmitter that actually complies with FCC regulations is garbage in a large city with heavy airwave saturation. The cheap chinese ones rarely comply with these regulations cause they constantly change brand names, anyways. The bigger players usually do play the by the rules and their products suffer as a result.
In this case, I suspect Satechi has recently been forced to start playing by the rules based on the transmitter I received. The weak signal and newly restricted (at least it appears to be a new change) frequency range are dead giveaways of this.
Sadly, that makes the unit hard to recommend. It's not Satechi's fault, but this transmitter just sucks in terms of signal strength (which means static *all* the time and an inability to broadcast "over" another signal if you can't find an empty frequency). Great design, but unless you live out in the middle of nowhere you probably won't be able to hear your music without static.

Pioneer MVH-P7300 3" In-Dash AV Receiver with iPod/iPhone Control and Pandora Review

(More customer reviews)This is my second pioneer I've owned in 10 years. The first had many annoyances that I had hoped pioneer fixed. The only reason I bought another pioneer was I was trying to use my same XM box - the 910. It doesn't work, you need the newer 920 to see channel data, etc. although you can hear it. My problem with this unit is sometimes while driving the knob can be tricky, the remote is still awful - you can't do everything with it and have to get halfway done with a task then reach for the unit, and just the way it works is wacky - like on XM up gets you to channels, but in iPod mode up doesn't take you to songs.
It's little stupid things like this that lead me to think there has to be a better way, the remote for example could easily work better (this hasn't changed in 10 years) and the way you scroll through and just operate the unit is not intuitive to me. I haven't played with other units from other manufacturers, but I'm assuming they are easier. It's a nice radio, quality is excellent - it's a pioneer afterall. I just wish someone over there would pick up an apple product and see how easy and intuitive controlling it could be rather than annoying. For example in the iPod mode going to the song list requires two tricky steps in a bouncing car. Fine on a smooth road, but a rough road could cause you to move the control knob wrong. Then when you are on the song if you would like to go back to the list you would think a simple "up" press on the knob or remote would get you back? No. That's only in XM mode! In iPod mode you need to click, scroll down to list, etc.
Anyway I won't bore you with any more details. In my opinion it's a nice radio that I can't help but think it could be easier to navigate. Pioneer hasnt changed though in 10 years so maybe this is as good as it gets. I'd still recommend playing with this unit and others at a store to see which you like better. Something I didn't do. Good news is amazon has the best price any where and at under $250 this unit is very good. At full retail I would feel a bit cheated. Also maybe go for the 8300. It has Bluetooth - big deal, but the best thing is the remote is different. Has a similar knob like the unit so maybe it's easier to use? Just a thought.

Okay, this thing has all the technology - It's got bluetooth connectivity, including the ability to play music from another device wireless and answer phone calls (built-in mic). It has an SD card slot, and a USB slot for other devices (haven't tried this out yet). It has an iPod dock. It'll even rip your CDs. I haven't seen anything on the market with this many options.
* Ease of Use (Interface)
This is where things start to go a bit off. It's not the easiest device to use. The display doesn't show the most relevant information. For example, if you're looking at it in bluetooth mode, it just keeps repeating the words "BLUETOOTH" in caps on the screen. But that's redundant because I already know that fact due to the big flashing blue light in the corner. Also, though this thing looks like a clock radio, it doesn't function very well as one (it rarely shows the time throughout the various functions - alarm is hard to set).
* Sound
It's fair - Not a whole lot of bass, mids are a little muddy, highs are very nice. Having said that, I don't have a comparable reference - I'm comparing it to my home stereo system and the bose wave radio.
* Quality / How's it Look
A good looking device - Definitely doesn't look cheap. It's got a big back end on it, but overall isn't too large. Fits on my nightstand just fine. The buttons are a little plasticky.
* In Summary
I'm going to continue using it - if only because there's no stereo out there that has this mix of features. I bought a bluetooth adapter for my ipod touch. It's very cool that I can be sitting anywhere in my bedroom and picking music. And if it runs short on batteries, I can drop it right into the ipod dock. But... I'm going to have to dig my 15-year-old clock radio out of the closet.
