Lenovo Ideacentre K320 3019-1LU Desktop (Black) Review

Lenovo Ideacentre K320 3019-1LU Desktop (Black)

I've bought Lenovo Ideacentre K320 3019-1LU Desktop (Black) for both home business and leisure (to play a game or two, watch high-def videos from my network and blu-ray and use Adobe Photoshop and Premiere for my home business).
The system passed all my tests with flying colors. It's plenty fast and powerful. Have a decent graphics. I also like the power control switch on the front of the PC that lets quickly to select one of the three modes - performance, dynamic or energy-saving.
If they could only include Blu-ray reader for this price - that would be the ultimate PC.

7" Touch Tablet PC MID Internet Media MP3/MP4 Player 2GB Google Android OS Review

7 Touch Tablet PC MID Internet Media MP3/MP4 Player 2GB Google Android OS
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a very crude device that will provide you with more frustation than service. For one thing, the touch screen does not work with your fingers (it is supposed to work, but it practically does not) You have to use a stylus or some other sharp thing and use it to drag the screen up and down. Second, the speakers give out almost no sound. You have to use earphones or you don't hear a thing. Third, practically no apps to download. It does not have a flash player so you cannot stream in audio or video from a web site. Fourth, the minuscule instruction manual is worthless, plus it is written in such broken English that you don't know what they are talking about.
I will be throwing this piece of chinese junk away shortly.

HDE 10.2 Super Pad II Review

HDE 10.2 Super Pad II
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Pro:
- 1GHz processor, nice speed
- battery duration very good only if allways shut down
- pdf, videos, music, wlan, gps work without problem
- apps also directly installable as apk
- most games work very nice/fast
- wlan/lan works great
- internet surfing works great
Contra:
- display not very bright/contrastfull, almost not visible in direct sun
- battery duration low if on standby
- a lot of apps not available in android market, like google maps, goggles etc. but still installable as apk's
- no manufacturer can be found to provide oficial firmware/os upgrades
- lot of apps (not all) can't connect to camera and g-sensor, like barcode scanners, g-sensor games
- no support
Conclusion:
- Nice, cheap, fast tablet for those who like tinkering and don't give up fast if something does not work at start.
- Nice for satisfying the desire, and realising one doesn't really need it, without spending 600eur.
- Also nice for those who just need something cheap for pdf reading, surfing, video watching, music listening, some basic gaming

Archos 501608 3.5 Vision 8 GB Mobile Media Device and MP3 Player Review

Archos 501608 3.5 Vision 8 GB Mobile Media Device and MP3 Player
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is my 5th Archos product. I was more than pleased with the first 4 products, this however is a complete waste of money:
POOR BUILD QUALITY - the casing doesn't fit together fully and the connections themselves aren't properly aligned which makes inserting sd card, usb and hdmi troublesome
POOR SOUND QUALITY - sounds really 'tinny'
POOR TOUCH SCREEN - touch screen is hit and miss, and I have tried recalibrating it several times
EXTREMELY POOR VIDEO QUALITY - shading and contrast is terrible, and when viewing anything which is in motion on the video it is jerky and 'blocky'
I have been in 'contact' with Archos regarding this product for over a month - although i use the word contact loosely.....it is very one sided....I email Archos and they don't bother addressing my concerns.
I will not be buying anymore Archos products and seriously recommend anyone not to buy any of their latest offerings.

The ARCHOS 35 vision is appropriately named--this media player is practically all screen, for a great view of your favorite video clips on the go. Of course, it'll help you with a few other things as well: enjoying your favorite tunes, sharing photos with friends and family, reading text documents, taking voice memos, and then some.

Nokia N810 Portable Personal Communicator/Internet Tablet/Wi-Fi Pocket PC/MP3/MP4/Audio/Video Player with 4.3" LCD Widescreen/Qwerty Keyboard/Webcam/Built-in Microphone/GPS Navigator Review

Nokia N810 Portable Personal Communicator/Internet Tablet/Wi-Fi Pocket PC/MP3/MP4/Audio/Video Player with 4.3 LCD Widescreen/Qwerty Keyboard/Webcam/Built-in Microphone/GPS Navigator
Average Reviews:

I have owned my N810 (affectionately named N8 - or Nate) for about 6 months now and it has become invaluable to me. These are the activities with which I use it:
- communication, using Google Voice, or Skype
- receiving and sending email, either via included email client, or web-based email
- web browsing
- watching and saving YouTube videos
- tracking and mapping via GPS unit
- taking notes
- games/entertainment with OS2008 games, or using Palm Emulator and my favorite old Palm Pilot games
- listening to music; sound quality is EXCELLENT for a hand-held (and I'm a musician, and picky)!
- recording voice notes
- taking photos and making small videos for online use
- keeping recipes; its small size make it excellent for reading in my tiny kitchen...and I can listen to music at the same time!
- reading eBooks
- text messaging via Google Voice/wifi
There are only a couple of cons that I have found so far. The front-facing camera, intended for use in video conferencing, makes photography tricky at best. This is acceptable to me, though, since it was never meant to replace a digital camera. The other is that the O/S will require a learning curve for the average point-and-click Windows user. While the device is definitely easy to pick up and use with the installed software, and loading new programs from either the Nokia website or the maemo site using the application manager, most more detailed tasks will require a certain amount of learning for most; in short, it ain't Windows :).
There are numerous other uses and apps for this device. Even after 6 months I feel I've hardly scratched the surface of its possibilities. It is always on the road with me, has replaced my laptop on weekend trips, and replaced my more cumbersome bedtime books and magazines. It has saved me money in this way, and also in cell phone/texting costs; it has already paid for itself - probably twice over.
In short, N8 has replaced both my Zune and my Palm Pilot, and become itself an irreplaceable part of my life.

Android 2.2 8 inch Tablet Pc - A8 Review

Android 2.2 8 inch Tablet Pc - A8
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
UPDATE: This gadget was terrific--for the 3 days that it actually worked! I put it on to charge and the next morning it wouldn't come on at all--never to come back to life. It seems that several others have had the same problem. I emailed the seller, who responded immediately, who acknowledged the problem and has promised a full refund when he receives it. So disappointing, as it was great when it worked. Hopefully, the bug will be worked out of these and they will be available at this price point, as they are tons of fun.
I received my tablet yesterday, 11/17/11, well before the promised delivery date, so was really surprised at the speedy delivery. I was somewhat taken aback by the fact that there was no manual or instructions of any sort, and this was a bit intimidating since I have never had an Android device. It would have been nice to at least have a diagram to tell me what the basic function buttons were, but after a bit of playing around, I was able to figure out most of it and download a couple of apps that I really wanted (Kindle, Nook & Audible). I did download a Kindle publication that covers Android 2.2, but it is aimed at the Galaxy so is of only general use. I could't find any aftermarket resource that specifically discusses the operation of Android 2.2 in a tablet, but there may be one out there. There are boards and blogs that might be useful for dealing with specific issues, but so far I have been able to intuit the functions that I want with no previous experience with Android OS's.
I am disappointed that my device does NOT have a USB input jack on the unit as indicated in the described specs. The one I received has a black edge, not silver like the one in the picture, so I am not sure if it is the same brand/model (the unit itself has no brand on it, and the packaging has something in Chinese characters but no English label) or not. It has a separate doggle that plugs into the power port, so I am crossing my fingers that this will operate without any special tweaking on my part, since I am not a "techie". I don't really expect to have to use that all that often, so having to do one step more than just plugging into the port is not that big a deal.
This tablet is absolutely great as an e-reader that allows me to access a number of different sources. Being a senior citizen, I like the backlit screen for reading (I found the e-ink of the Kindle 2 difficult to read even with large type). Browsing the web is straightforward and the Market has more apps than I will ever use. I don't expect this to replace my iPhone (which I love and am lost without), but it is nice to have an app-based way to access the functions I use most often. The lack of documentation and USB jack caused me to deduct one star on the rating, but those would be easy to fix.
This little guy does not replace my laptop or my iPhone--too small for the first and too big for the second. But it fills a gap between the two, being the right size for book reading (especially with the ability to re-size the text), read email and do some basic surfing. The size of this unit is perfect (8"), being large enough to read easily and small enough to be easy to handle and hold for an extended period of time. I have yet to find out how long the battery will stay charged, but it is not anywhere near as long as the Kindle (but I need to tweak a couple of settings--turn off the GPS--for longer life, I just found out), but it will certainly get you through a day of reading. It can be recharged with a wall socket or USB connection. I think it will be ideal to take when traveling, since I usually am too busy to spend much time on the internet. Being able to carry books, read mail and check some news is well within the capabilities of this little unit. For 40% of the price of the basic iPad, only slightly more than a Kindle and less than the color Nook, it is a very handy crossover device and worth the cost if I don't ever use it for more than I have already gotten it to do.
