(More customer reviews)I recently purchased the DA40 USB Headset adapter so that I could use my extremely comfortable Plantronics Supra Headset (H261) to take a class online. The DA40 is "plug and play" so there was no software to install. It has the quick release so you can easily switch from VOIP to landline. The only thing that would make it better is if it had an inline mute button, but the price of this item more than made up for it, so I gave it 5 stars anyway. The newer DA60 has that but is three times the price. I knew before I purchased the DA40 that the mute feature was missing, but didn't think it was worth an extra $60 just for that.

2.5mm Mobile Headset To PC Converter Review

(More customer reviews)This is the only place in the *world* I could find this type of adapter. Radio Shack apparently used to have one (Multimedia Headset Y-Cable, 42-2428) but discontinued it. I tested this item with a mono cell headset (3 conductors on the 2.5mm plug) and a stereo cell headset (4 conductors on the 2.5mm plug). It worked with both, but with the stereo headset, sound only comes through the right headphone channel. Sound records identically on both channels through the microphone however. Using this adapter I could use my cell phone headset to both listen to music and place Skype calls on my PC. The sound quality of both was fine. This is a very useful item to save having to buy a separate headset for VoIP calls.
