I would throw it in the garbage if I was unable to return it.
I turn it on. The screen comes on. I set the date and time.
I try to activate the zoom. I seems not to work, about 3-4 seconds later the zooming occurs.
I press the button to take a picture... nothing. I press again and, click, picture taken. I try to uses the thumb pad to delete the picture, no response. The screen goes black. At this point the camera is totally non-responsive.
I press the power button to turn it off, but the lens stays open for about 10 seconds before it goes off.
This is the second Kodak camera I have purchased that has been dysfunctional to the point of being useless.
Fool me once... you know the rest.
