(More customer reviews)The Asus Radeon HD5450 Silent 512 MB DDR2 PCI-Express Graphics Card is a great low-cost upgrade to personal computer systems with an integrated graphics chipset and a low wattage power supply. It's definitely NOT for hardcore gamers that want the highest resolutions and the most demanding video setting, but it can run most of the popular titles currently available at a resolution of 1024 by 768 with medium to high graphic settings. What makes this card extremely attractive is it's low power requirement. Idle, the pull is about 7 watts, and loaded it pulls about 20 watts. That means that most off-the-shelf systems with a 220 to 250 watt power supply and a PCI-Express 16X slot should have no problem upgrading the integrated graphics to this card without having to replace the existing power supply. Even slim-line systems can use this card by converting the connection bracket to the low profile one included. The card really shines with HD video playback. Asus throws in some additional utilities with their video drivers that let you "tweak" the settings (if you choose), as well as, a "smart doctor" application that monitors the temperature of the GPU. Though the card doesn't use a dedicated fan (hence the "silent" label), Asus does recommend that the system's case have good air circulation (such as a case fan). Hope the information helps!
