I bought the PYLE 19in Monitor/DVD combo to keep my kids entertained on long road trips. After we had it installed we found out the monitor didn't work so we sent it back ($50+ shipping we had to pay for) and got a new one. Got the 2nd one installed only to find out the DVD player wouldn't read any discs and put nasty scratches on the discs that we tried to play. My husband and I and the installation tech tried to contact PYLE several times and got no answer and no return calls or email responses so we returned the 2nd one (again, another $50+ in shipping we had to pay for). Don't waste your money or your time with this product - it's a piece of junk! And after their lack of support, we'll never buy another PYLE product again.

PYLE PLD72BK Adjustable Headrests w/ Built-In 7'' TFT/LCD Monitor w/ Built in DVD Player & IR/FM Transmitter With Cover (Black) Review

Highs: 1yr warranty. Better quality than non-branded units on ebay. Ability to connect 2 headrests together to play and watch from either or both headrests. Infra-Red headphone capable but not included.
Lows: Games/game controller are low quality. No headphones.
I purchased this Pyle DVD headrest to replace a similar looking non-branded DVD headrest that I purchased on ebay that only lasted 30days before the display went out. I will never get burned by ebay and questionable sellers with no warrany and a 7-day return policy again. Note: I wasn't able to leave feedback to warn others on ebay because it was past 30days. Ebay simply said Oh-well, that's our policy.
This Pyle DVD headrest has a 1 year warranty and it has the video/audio in/out cables to connect 2 of these DVD headrest in the car. The kids love the option of watching their own movie or watching the same movie. Our kids are 6 and 8, so my wife or I usually have to get the movies going because the remote might be confusing, at least until they get used to it.
The Pyle DVD headrest is better quality than the ebay unit I replaced. For example, the hinge is more robust and the flat, flexible ribbon cables have a strain relief and guide to prevent damage. All around it seems that Pyle's engineering specified a higher end product. The instruction manual is also better than the off-brand unit that I have.
The IR headphones that we had from the previous headrest work perfect with the Pyle DVD headrest and have both A and B channels. I wish Pyle included a set.
Don't buy it for the games.

I purchased this through Amazon, but the sub-supplier handled complaints and return of the product. I am glad that I had Amazon backing up this purchase.
After reading several other reviews on this product, I was prepared for some of the issues. The biggest issue is the Chinese to English translation in the operations manual (not the installation). You need to sit down with a cup of coffee and read these directions first with the product in front of you. There is a Chinese website that is more useful than the instruction manual, or the supplier. If you have a 12 VDC power supply, it is worth it to sit down and figure out all the controls and make sure everything functions before you install these.
The adapter rods are of course too small in diameter for today's American Made vehicles. So I twice wrapped them top to bottom with black electrical tape. That seemed to make them snug enough to fit.
Hooking up the wiring was relatively easy. My problem came after I had installed them and after playing for 5 minutes, one of the LCD screens went totally blank. The supplier company required me to package everything back up and Fedex picked them up the next day. One week later, my returned package arrived at their business in New York. After a few phone calls, they then shipped a new set which arrived in three days. I tested the new headsets for an hour before installing them. I didn't want to have that problem again.
The game CD have nothing on them. they are blank. So I guess you have to go to their website, download the games compresed to your computer, open the games, then transfer them to the CD.
Make sure your headsets work. If you have 2 kids in the car and they are watching different DVDs, the sound is maddening. Remember the speakers are right behind your head times 2.
So far I am pleased with the equipment. I had three previous vehicles that came from the factory with entertainment systems and we liked them all. But with my latest car purchase, I didn't want to spend $1200 more for factory installed DVD systems, so I thought this was a good investment. If in the future these DVD players break, I can just re-install original headrest. At least for now the grandkids are occupied on long trips.
I rated this a '3' because the operating instructions are difficult to understand, and that I had to wait two more weeks for a good set to arrive. The supplier did handle the problem without question..they just wanted to confirm there was something wrong with them.

I've had this for a week and installed for a few days now. Installation was very straightforward, cables were all labeled both with the appropriate color wire and paper tags. Mounted well and worked well from the get-go. Sounds great, much better than my stock radio (Ford Taurus 01).
Can not comment on durability over time but it is as advertised and installed/working well.

The SDBT73N from Lanzar gives you a massive, motorized 7-inch touchscreen to enjoy your video and navigate its features. The package is complete with support for several disc and file formats, SD and USB convenience, and 4 x 80 watts of power. When you're ready to add on, Lanzar provides preamp/subwoofer outputs, video output, and a rearview camera input.

Motorized 7-Inch Touchscreen The SDBT73N features a brilliant 7-inch touchscreen display, which folds up into the unit when not in use. With a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio and 1440 x 234 pixel resolution, it delivers great-looking video and makes navigating the receiver's features a breeze. The unit's front panel may be detached as well, when the screen is stowed away, for added security.

Enjoy Your Media This receiver will play back a variety of disc media formats: DVD, VCD, CD, and CD-R/RW. An anti-shock mechanism prevents skipping while you're on the road.

USB and SD/MMC Convenience Of course, some prefer the convenience of MP3s. The SDBT73N has you covered, thanks to a USB port and SD/MMC card slot. Fill up a thumb drive or a few SD cards, and you'll have hours of music at your disposal.

AM/FM Radio Enjoy your favorite radio programming with a PLL synthesizer tuner. Eighteen FM and 12 AM station presets let you store your favorite stations, and features like auto store or preset scan help you dial in stations when you're in a new locale.

320 Watts and Room to Grow The SDBT73N delivers 4 x 80 watts of power, for a respectable 320 watts max. If that's just not enough, RCA preamp and subwoofer outputs let you expand your system.

A/V and Camera Connections Connect an external A/V device, such as a video game system or video camera, using the A/V input, or add a monitor in the backseat using the A/V output.

A rearview camera input allows you to connect third-party cameras for safety and convenience when backing up, parking, etc.

Remote Included A wireless remote control is included.

What's in the Box SDBT73N receiver, case for faceplate, remote control, wiring harness/installation hardware, and user's manual.

Since there were no reviews on this when I bought it, I wanted to wait a few days to really become familiar with the radio before I posted one. I installed this in a 2007 Nissan Frontier 5 days ago. Here are the good and the bad that I've found on this radio so far.
Bad:
* This is not so much as bad, but slightly annoying.. the clock does not display on the radio. You have to hit the clock button on the remote to view the time, and it will only display for about 5 seconds.
* When you first put a CD in, the radio checks to see if it's a DVD so it takes a few seconds before the CD will start to play.
* I had problems with the screen not coming out all the way so ended up taking the trim off the front of the radio so I could pull it out of the dash a little more. When the screen is open you can't really tell.
* If you are listening to a CD or watching a DVD and need to go back to the main screen, the disc will stop playing. It does, however, pick up where it left off when you go back to it.
* I listen to CDs a lot. In order for it to continuously play the CD over and over, you must use the remote to set it on Repeat All each time you start your vehicle.
Good:
* Sound quality is great. Much better than the factory radio.
* Bluetooth functionality is awesome. I paired my phone once and it now connects as soon as the radio comes on. Call quality is clear, and the person on the other end has no problems hearing me even though the mic is built into the radio. Disc play goes right back to where it left off after a call has ended.
* I don't use it often, but there are 18 station presets.
* The remote has an angle button that allows you to tilt the screen. When you turn the car off, and then turn it back on it remembers where the screen was.
* If you want to hook up a review camera (or just bypass the parking brake feature), it comes with a grounding wire to use on a toggle switch. I bought one from O'Reilly's for about $4.00. Connected the grounding wire to one end of the switch, and the other end is behind one of my mounting screws. Connected the parking brake wire to the other end of the switch. Works great.
* It will read NTSC and PAL formatted DVDs.
* MP3 playback can be controlled through the touch screen, or through the MP3 player itself.
* It has a micro USB slot on the front panel, but comes with a cable to allow you to hook up a USB drive up to 8GB.
All in all, for the price I paid for this radio, I am very satisfied. I was looking at some more expensive units, but decided to go with this one to save a little money. If you're in the same situation as me and don't have a lot of money to spend, I would highly recommend this unit. It has all the features I wanted, at half the price. Hope this review helps someone out!

We purchased this player for our Dodge Grand Caravan. We installed it ourselves (my husband is pretty mechanically inclined) and it was fairly hassle-free. We had to actually cut a hole in the headliner because the instructions suggest mounting it over your existing dome light, but in a GC it is too close to the second-row seats and we ended up installing it between the rear HVAC controls and the front ceiling console. You don't need a massive hole for installation and they provide everything you need, including wiring to hook it into an existing video system/sound system if you already have one. The IR works perfectly too - we bought two sets of kid-sized wireless headphones and they work perfectly with the unit. The only issue is the vague instructions (they were obviously NOT written by an English-speaking person, and were not too clear), so unless you are pretty mechanically savvy, it is best to leave installation to a professional.
