(More customer reviews)I grudgingly decided to get a new PC speaker system after the "puck" controller on my Monsoon 3-piece system went bad (Monsoon is out of business so replacement parts are not available). Quality sounds means alot to me as I constantly listen to mp3's and streaming audio while at my desk, I am also an avid gamer (BF2, Doom3, etc).
I read all of the reviews and system specs here for speaker systems under $100.00 and went down to the local computer shop and listened to several on the display rack.
I settled on this system for the following reasons:
1) Price, at $58.00 it's under my budget
2) Manufacturer, Creative Labs has been around for ages and arent leaving any time soon (so replacement parts will be available if needed).
3) The reviews buy users here were mostly positive.
4) The puck controller, it has on/off, speaker volume, sub-volume and a headphone jack right on the puck. No more hunting for the headphone jack on my PC case with that feature.
I was a bit put off when I got the system because the components were physically "lighter" than my Monsoon system. That feeling was misplaced because this system actually sounds MUCH better than my Monsoons. It is clearer on the highs and the lows are much more defined as well. The sub volume control is nice because you can turn the sub volume completely off if you need to. I'm often working or gaming when everyone else is the home is asleep and it's easy for me to control the noise level so the sub doesnt carry as much.
All in all it's a very good system and I don't think you'll be dissapointed if your looking for a PC setup. On a side note, you need a sound card that supports surround sound (3-speaker outputs), I have a "Soundblaster LIVE" and it works well. These cards are also fairly inexpsensive if you need one.

Creative Lab's Inspire P5800 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System has 72 watts of power, the most in its class, for more explosive gaming in 5.1 surround sound. And it was designed with a more powerful center satellite to match the audio requirements of the latest games and movies. The P5800 also has a wired remote that can be conveniently placed anywhere on the desktop, unlike other systems that cut costs by integrating the controls into one of the speakers. It includes a bass level control for personalized adjustment (far more user-friendly than making you crawl on the floor to the subwoofer to turn up the bass!) and a headphone jack for private listening.Among the system's many features are its powerful center satellite, designed to enhance your video and gaming experience; an ultra-powerful powerful wooden subwoofer with a large 5.25-inch long throw driver and a flared port for a deeper and cleaner bass; and an auxiliary input for listening to MP3 and music players while gaming. And with the system's CMSS upmix switch, you can get 5.1 audio from older, four-channel sound cards.
What's in the Box Two front satellite speakers, one center satellite speaker, two rear satellite speakers, subwoofer, wired remote control, 5.1 audio cable, five removable speaker grilles, power supply adapter, quick Start leaflet, warranty and technical support booklet.
