(More customer reviews)The human voice has a limited audio frequency range ; music may range from 10 to 30000 Hertz. I had hoped this tiny USB device could do yeoman's work connecting to self-powered external speakers. Nope ~ guess again, dude. I have requested an RMA from the Amazon Seller; they have obliged. Next, from reading reviews on the big A, I am going with the Griffin iMic USB adapter. Even an audio pro gives it very high marks.
I never tried this adapter for telephone applications; I bet it will work just fine for the price. In fact, my seller's ad copy only talks about this particular use.
Like they say, you get what you pay for.
