(More customer reviews)I was looking for a usb soundcard that had mic-in to replace my current usb soundcard. I bought this one because it advertised mac/linux(!) compatibility on the back where the other card I was considering only talked about windows. I'm sure the other card was linux compatible as well, but I like to reward linux-friendly vendors.
I am very pleased with the sound quality of this card, and while I am not entirely sure I like the form factor (it seems a bit precarious), it has two advantages over alternatives:
1.) it does not usb ports that are directly to the left/right of it or below it. My other usb soundcard was wide enough and thick enough that it caused problems with anything near it.
2.) it uses a standard mini-usb cable in case you want more length, rather than needing a usb M-F extension cord. I use mini-usb to charge all my cell phones, so I have plenty of them.
minor problems:
1.) The LED is too bright and does an annoying fade-in/out when it is idle.
2.) no optical out (but I knew that when I bought it.)
