(More customer reviews)I replaced a machine that was about 5 years old with this model HP. I was a bit concerned that it was going to be hot and/or noisy as the video card in this machine can draw about 250W, but during normal use it's pretty quiet. (Not silent, but quiet enough for me.) When you push it a bit you can definitely hear the fans inside start running faster.
I haven't tried any really recent games on it but I did try the Half-Life 2 demo and it runs VERY smoothly at 1920x1080 with the detail turned up all of the way.
The "Windows 7 Experience" on this machine is 7.4 or 7.5 for everything but the hard disk - which it rates at 5.9. I suppose a 10,000RPM drive or SSD would be faster - but the 7200RPM disk it has seems plenty fast - the machine boots quickly, applications start quickly, etc.
I've had it for about a month and overall I've been very happy so far!
