(More customer reviews)I have to say that at first I thought that getting great sound from my ASUS Republic of Gamers G73JH-A2 17-Inch Gaming Laptop (Black) would be impossible but not anymore. At first I thought this product was a gimmick and would not really produce the 5.1 let alone 7.1 that I wanted to hear but I have to say it has proved me wrong. I did many test through games and THX DVD tests and it was indeed 5.1 SRS. I don't have 7.1 so I cannot really test if that works but I have a feeling it will. What I love also are the extra spots for headphones Sennheiser HD-595 Premier Headphone and mic and other outputs and inputs. For the price this is a great USB soundcard and is perfect for laptops and computers. Also it works with Windows 7 so that is a +. Again if you need a sound card and don't want to open your computer to install one or you just cannot install one in the case of laptops than this is your best bet for great sound. It really does work.
